Medical Camps

Four medical camps have now been run in the Kisii area of the Western Highlands of Kenya. Our fifth camp took place in March 2019.

All treatment and medication is provided free of charge to everyone who attends.

On each occasion we have held 6 camps at 6 locations over 6 days seeing between 3000 and 4000 patients over each 6 day period.

Services are provided by UK volunteers and local Kenyan staff. The clinics are operated under the direction of Kenyan medical staff with the consent of the Kenyan Ministry of Health.

The services include

  • Medical (primary care services and some minor injuries)
  • Dentistry
  • Opticians (mainly providing glasses, treating eye infections and cataract referrals)
  • Family Planning & Sexual Health
  • Laboratory services including malaria and HIV testing
  • Pharmacy dispensing
